We at neets.ai take responsible AI seriously. So we’re clear, our voices are AI generated: we do not yet pay these people for saying everything you input. A computer does some math and sometimes a wav file that sounds like a famous (or not so famous) person comes out—sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it’s gibberish or a “hallucination”. But, if you attempt to use our software to, in any way, harm someone or something, just know this:
By the way, this software is built on open-source tools. Anyone smart can learn how to do this in five minutes. So, if you are mad at us or blame us, make sure you blame everyone else too: there are about 10 well-known “voice cloning” commercial software tools out there, there are hundreds of researchers from major corporations and universities who have published on this technology and dozens of open-source repositories.
When you purchase our product, you are subleasing our compute cluster to run open-source software to generate audio from text you request.
This audio is intended for your private use and entertainment: what you do with it is on you. Legally, you cannot copywrite a voice. Our vocal mimicry software does not give you rights or licenses, if they apply or exist, to any intellectual property. We are not using any famous person’s likeness to sell a service or good. These are not authentic voices, but computer mimics. If you want the real thing, you’ll have to reach out to them. Put in a good word with Emma Watson for us. Finally, you cannot use our software to make songs. A lot of these voices are wonderful musicians whose works we respect greatly. Our software just doesn’t make music, so don’t even try.
